As an ESL teacher whose main focus is on teaching, or rather facilitating, speaking/conversational lessons, this lesson was amazing and a true help. The idea was fresh and modern and something I had not thought of before. The subject material, especially the motivation and warm-up, got my students really into the subject and really made them think outside of the box. This even had me thinking and joining in to find a new perspective on the subject and motivate me to do my own project. The vocabulary with the pictures helped my Korean students immediately to comprehend and be able to use the vocabulary in the conversation we had about D.I.Y. . For some students, it was really rewarding to be able to use the given examples and use them in describing their own hobbies or projects they have done. The reading was interesting and appropriate, and the comprehension questions were not just appropriate; they were at a good level for my students to be able to understand and be able to answer. This not only made me achieve my goals as a teacher presenting the lesson but also boosted the students confidence. The lesson was really interesting, well planned, and easy to follow. I highly recommend this and will use more of the lessons from A Global Mind in the future.
